For decades there has been a struggle of opinion between the medical field and those that prefer natural remedies and preventives over a pharmaceutical option.

One of the few areas that both sides come to an agreement on, is the benefits of fish oil The omega 3 oils for adults as well as omega 3 for kids have proven to be vitally important in our diets. It has been proven that people do not get enough of this powerful nutrient from the foods they eat so the best solution is to take a good quality fish oil supplement.

Omega 3 fatty acids have proven to be beneficial in many areas of your health Let’s start with the heart: Fish oil can significantly reduce your triglycerides levels and at the same time can increase your good cholesterol levels. It can also delay the process of hardening of the arteries and can contribute to the lowering of your blood pressure.

And the benefits for your heart are just one example of the amazing properties of the fish oil. Among other things, it can seriously reduce inflammation in your body and can also mitigate the pain you get from arthritis..  Fish oil also is an excellent anti-aging agent; it helps increase the life of the cells and also fights macular degeneration which more often than not can lead to such disastrous health complications such as blindness..

For pregnant women the benefits go straight to her unborn child as omega 3 for kids is directly related to a healthy brain.

Although mentioned again and again in all media, it seems that parents are still not aware of th simple fact that omega 3 supplements are not only essential for adults, but for children as well..  When a pregnant women takes at least 900 mg of fish oil per day she is contributing to her child’s healthy brain function and nervous system development.  This means that the omega 3 for kids will increase the baby’s intelligence, give the child better eye sight as well as contribute to good behavior and consistent sleeping patterns.

These medical findings stem from the fact that 70% of a newborn’s brain and nervous system consists of DHA, EPA and omega 3 essential fatty acids. . Imagine the head start that a mother can give her baby with just this simple supplement.

Don’t stop supplementing your child after birth.  The ideal course of action to take is to continue giving omega 3 for kids to him or her and gradually increase the dosage as they get older..  As long as children are growing and developing their brains require this extra boost of fish oil.  My advice is that you should settle with nothing less than superior quality fish oil products, rich with a high amount of omega 3, DHA and EPA..  And you shouldn’t worry that your children cannot handle supplements in capsule form, just because they are hard to swallow. You can alternatively cut the capsules in half and add it to their food..
